Collagen Membrane Film Discs
Catalog #5315
Collagen membrane film discs (23 mm diameter) have high strength and flexibility (see video tab). This thin membrane film has highly structured collagen fibers and can be useful in tissue engineering as a barrier substrate or basement membrane, or in applications where a very thin sheet of collagen is required.
Product Description
Collagen membrane film discs consist of thin sheets of type I and III collagen and is sourced from cephalopods. This collagen membrane is highly flexible with unique mechanical properties and strength upon hydration. The structure comprises of natural heterogeneity where the collagen fibers are apparent under microscopy. Note: There may be some of the discs that are not entirely flat or have fold creases. Upon wetting of discs, the creases will go away and the discs will lay-out flat in the cultureware.
The collagen content in this product is >95%. Each package contains 5 collagen membrane film discs with each disc having a width of 23 mm diameter with an average thickness ranging from 30 to 60 microns. The discs fit into a 12-well culture plate well. This product is biocompatible and cell friendly but is not sterile.
