Publication Title:
Electroconductive Biohybrid Hydrogel for Enhanced Maturation and Beating Properties of Engineered Cardiac Tissues
Advanced BioMatrix Products Used:
RatCol® 4 mg/ml type I telocollagen
How the products were used:
Our rat tail type I collagen (4 mg/ml) was used to form a 3D hydrogel encapsulating neonatal rat cardiomyocytes. The cells exhibited ehanced beating frequency, speed of contraction, and larger contraction amplitude.
Abstract:
Here, a biohybrid hydrogel composed of collagen, alginate, and electroconductive poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) :polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) is developed that exhibits extracellular matrix mimetic fibrous structures and enhanced electrical coupling as well and cardiomyocyte maturation.
