How the products were used:

Our HyStem®-C kit was used to make 3D hydrogels from hyaluronic acid. The concentrations of various components were adjusted in order to tune the hydrogel stiffness. The affects of matrix stiffness on macrophage activation were measured. 

 

Article Abstract:

In this, we describe an easy method to measure functions (gene expressions) of human and mouse macrophages in response to mechanical microenvironment changes by embedding isolated macrophages in polymerized hyaluronan gel with different wound matrix stiffness.
