Publication Title:

Extracellular Matrix Stiffness and Composition Regulate the Myofibroblast Differentiation of Vaginal Fibroblasts

Advanced BioMatrix Products Used:

CytoSoft® PDMS Soft Substrate Plates

CytoSoft eBrochure

How the products were used:

CytoSoft® Plates (soft substrate 6-well plates with a thin layer of PDMS of a specific stiffness, including 0.2, 0.5, 2, 8, 16, 32 and 64 kPa) were used to evaluate the affect of environmental substrate stiffness on vaginal fibroblast to myofibroblast differentiation.

Article Conclusion:

Gene expression levels of ACTA2 steadily increased from 0.2 kPa to 8 kPa. This study also showed that a combination of ECM and substrate stiffness are required to regulate myofibroblast differentiation.
