Publication Title:

Substrate loss modulus promotes the differentiation of SHSY-5Y neuroblastoma cells.

Advanced BioMatrix Products Used:

RatCol® Type I Rat Tail Collagen, 4 mg/ml, Telocollagen

Collagen eBrochure

How the products were used:

RatCol type I rat tail collagen was used to coat substrates of varying rigidity to improve cell attachment. The study was evaluating the role of substrate stiffness on neuronal differentiation.

Article Conclusion:

The results indicate that the high loss modulus can be a potential independent mechanical property that influences neuronal differentiation as both the substrates featured similar storage modulus. This study elucidates the crucial role of loss modulus of the substrate on neuronal differentiation and highlights the significance of combining mechanical and chemical cues in cellular differentiation processes.
